I find carry out carpet cleaning London wide – from Heathrow to Upminster and Croydon to Barnet. Travelling is not a problem – I like to travel. Some may say that getting about in London is a pain in the neck. I don’t think so. If you know your way around you won’t get stuck in these horrible chock-a-blocks. Actually they are to be seen around the main roads.

Well, brilliant idea to try and keep the premises clean at all times (residential and communal areas) – ask the students to keep their rooms clean or face the cleaning bill. Excellent and quite effective!

We all know usually students tend to “destroy” accommodation. We’ve all heard the horror stories from landlords and letting agents – thrashed properties, total absence of cleaning (what is that?), rent defaults etc.

The governors at Bournemouth University have made a wise choice. I believe there must be some kind of deposit held on these residential units.

Nothing is said about arrangements for preventative carpet cleaning Bournemouth University must have in place within their cleaning requirements. Who will pick up the bill if the communal area carpets get all stained and soiled by the students? Imagine a large party arriving from a muddy Glastonbury Festival covered in dirt :) What a disaster for the carpets.

I guess the contract carpet cleaners will have to be called urgently and Bournemouth University picking up the bill for the carpet cleaning required. That’s reality.

Natural cleaning with natural products is becoming increasingly popular nowadays. I am not surprised, having in mind the publications about the negative impact chemicals have on our health and the environment. I completely understand why people wouldn’t want harsh and poluting substances in their homes. OK, but what do we use to carry out our [...]

I guess buying domain names has become a hobby of mine. Well, an expensive one to enjoy right now but hopefully bringing generous ROI (return On Investment) in the future.

In other words, investing in good domains is like investing in the property market, with the difference that domain names only go up in value and not down. With the fast paces the Internet is running ahead and new websites jumping into the wild every day, I don’t see a logical reason why the graphic trajectory of domains prices should change its upward direction.

If you have a reason to believe domain names will start going down in value, I would love to hear it. I’d bee surprised if I received any reply about that.

My advice – buy, buy, buy! Now! Domains I thought were too long or ugly sounding years ago, now command prices I’ve never imagined one could ask …and get.

What is a good domain? Ideally a 4-5 letter .com domain. Well, these are long gone and the prices are just too much for an individual to access. Large corporate sharks normally operate in these cyberwaters where domains fetch prices in the region of tens of millions.

Here is a list of the most expensive domains ever sold as of March 2010, courtesy of http://most-expensive.net:

1. Insure.com, sold to QuinStreet for $16 million in 2009.
2. Sex.com, sold for $12-$14 million in 2006.
3. Fund.com, sold for $9.99 million in 2008.
4. Porn.com, sold for $9.5 million in 2007.
5. Business.com, sold for $7.5 million in 1999.
6. Diamond.com, sold to Ice.com for $7.5 million in 2006.
7. Beer.com, sold for $7 million in 2004.
8. Israel.com, sold for $5.88 million in 2004.
9. Casino.com, sold for $5.5 million in 2003.
10. Toys.com, sold to Toys ‘R Us for $5.1 million in 2009.

See my point? Go get some domains now.

After reading so many articles and reviews about the Marshall Silver Jubilee amp I decided I need one immediately. One of my favourite guitar players, Slash, has been using one since the very beginning and has sworn by this amp. If it is good for Slash it is good for me too ;-) !

After a long search on ebay (those amps have been manufactured in 1986-1987, so they are a kind of vintage) I found one in a near perfect condition. In Kettering – 2 hours drive. Nevermind – got there and purchased the amp. Luckily the guy had a Slash signature cab (loaded with 4 Celestion Vintage) and I bought that one too. What a sweet combination!!! I am very, very happy.

Last week I went to survey a large property in Eaton Square, SW1. It was being refurbished before the new owners move in. Well, I need to say, I have never seen such a large house in Central London before. Huge it was. There was a lot to look at and quote for.

Vacuum carpet cleaning motors are pieces of equipment that quyalifies for The Most Changed Part award within the whole machine’s construction. Not a great thing as they cost about £100 a pop if you buy 10 at once. If you go to a repair shop you would expect to pay about £150. Well, I ordered [...]

Well, I ordered 15 last week – just in case. I have to be prepared for those tough moments when everything seems to be falling apart or breaking down.

There is a way of repairing a failed vacuum motor but it is42v.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   not a

This year decided to skip Carpex in Coventry. Last year proved there was nothing significantly new on the carpet cleaning innovations front, so 2010 looks like even plainer than 2009.

I believe many carpet cleaning manufacturers will not be attending the show as there are not many reasons to why carpet cleaners should spend lots of money on new equipment when business and budgets are tight. Sounds reasonable to me.

Currently my carpet cleaners have all the equipment they need (even more than that) and any extra sums spent on the same carpet cleaning equipment but a bit modified are simply out of the question.
